Why do I design?
I want to design systems that inspire creativity and beyond. A message of empathy that can reach the hearts and souls of people who i feel lost. A design message that can improve a rigorous school system to make the individual's life a little easier and more inclusive for people who think differently. At least enough to get them over the finish line.
Salutations,
My name is Michael Wyckoff. Adopted into a suburb of Chicago.
Design student with a passion for innovative design that highlights inclusivity to help bring people who move and think differently.
School was difficult for me, from overcoming my speech impediment while trying to keep up with my classmates. I’ve naturally fallen behind because while I was developing my basic linguistic skills, my classmates were reading books way above my skill level.
So I focused on becoming the “funny guy” and I developed as a creative person. From the entertainment of a magic trick, playing Beatles music from the acoustic guitar, and drawing freely. Creativity gave me a way in.
But I’ve never stopped reading and writing
because I will never give up. And I still generally have an interest in the beauty of flipping page to page.
Therefore, through all my hobbies an dperseverance. I’ve graduated from Lyons Township High School. And now I’m at the DAAP design program from the University of Cincinnati. I want to create design help people like me understand and find where that they fit.

What I've learned from my professor is
to read as much as possible about any type of design because learning about other human experience can strengthen creativity and the knowledge of the specific niches and the language of how designers talk and interact with our ever changing world.
