Project Overview
The creature marks is to recognize how the shape language communicates to the viewer and how to make the creature mark have a simple but effective message.
This is awareness for a campaign of the beauty of the Hawkmoth and understanding the process of the rebirth throughout the midnight sky. While moving, thriving, and evolving into a unique being that grows into a beautiful bug that feels free from the world.
Research
The Hawk Moth mimics like a hummingbird and learns how to camouflage with its environment. I learned that any part of the hawk moth is beautiful in the form of the shape language.
People think that all moths are ugly and all butterflies are beautiful. Butterflies and moths go through the same process of rebirth. While this hawk moth has fascinating patterns. Moths are just as beautiful as butterflies
Iteration
Learning the shape language took some time to get used to. Each iteration has characteristics that demonstrate being lightweight, fast, and transformational. Slowly, I started to learn to think and apply more simple elements in my graphic translation.
refinement
Mostly I was focus on the body of the Halk Moth and see how I could accurately acquire the features of light weight, speed, and bold appearance.
Final on Creature Mark
Color study
I figured out I wanted to make the Halk Moth in the air because of the symbol of rebirth but to also demonstrate the whimsical look.
Iteration and refinement of background
I first thought the flowers were going to bring out a whimsical look, but the more I started to Iterate then, I realized that I could accomplish the same look with the sequence of clouds and the focal point of the moon.
